SandLand Extended Until October 15

(Charlottetown, PE - August 28, 2007) – Due to the overwhelming response, Tourism Charlottetown has decided to keep SandLand open until October 15, 2007, maximizing on the shoulder season traffic expected from the Prince Edward Island Marathon, motor coach visitors, and incoming cruise ships.

SandLand Reports Record Breaking Attendance

(Charlottetown, PE - August 1, 2007) - SandLand presented by Northumberland Ferries has been open to the public for a month now.  Since June 30, close to 13,000 guests have enjoyed the artistry of SandLand and its 20 Sand Sculptures all iconic to Prince Edward Island, each tell a different story about PEI, from confederation to harness racing, from shipbuilding to fisheries; even farming and golf are featured.

Live on Location Canada AM visits SandLand

(Charlottetown, PE - June 27, 2007) – Join Canada AM Friday morning June 29 at 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Live on location on the Historic Charlottetown Waterfront. Tourism Charlottetown and hosts of Canada AM morning show invite the public to be part of the action at 6 Prince Street, next to Founders’ Hall and Lobster on the Wharf.

SandLand Opens to the Public June 30, 2007

This summer in Charlottetown, catch the magic of sand sculpture!

 

(Charlottetown, PE - June 4, 2007) – With over two million pounds of sand unloaded onto the Historic Charlottetown Waterfront and three weeks into construction, SandLand is progressing right on schedule. Sand sculptors have been brought in from around the world to put their talents together to create SandLand. All sculptures will explore the theme of life and times in PEI, such the Confederation Ferry sailing the Northumberland Strait, Dairy Farming, St. Dunstan’s Basilica Cathedral, An Acadian Kitchen Party, Oyster harvesting, Province House, and many more.
