Feel the Rush - the countdown is on!

CHARLOTTETOWN, May 28, 2007 – The countdown is on for June 10th when about 100 of the World’s best female cyclists are come to PEI! Tour de PEI is a 5 stage tour that will include a time-trial event on the Confederation Bridge.

 

The event is as follows:

 

June 10: Summerside Circuit
June 11: Confederation Bridge time trial
June 12: Stage race, from Cavendish, Prince Edward Island National Park going West
June 13: Stage race, from Dalvay, Prince Edward Island National Park of Canada going East
June 14: Charlottetown criterium

 

A free outdoor concert featuring the Juno Award winning band, Mobile will take place at the Confederation Centre of the Arts at the finale on June 14th. In addition, an amateur event and the Tour de PEI Juniors ride will take place prior to some of the stages.

The Tour de PEI, presented by Scotiabank, is the Island’s first International Women’s Cycling Event, and is organized in conjunction with Confederation Bridge by the World Cup Cycling Organization who has been presenting a similar event in Montreal for the past nine years.
