Getting Here by Air

  • Air Canada Jazz , the regional affiliate of Air Canada , offers daily flights from Halifax, Nova Scotia. Air Canada Jazz provides daily direct service from Montréal year round and extra direct flights are offered from Toronto and Montréal during the summer.
  • West Jet offers direct service from Toronto on a year round basis with additional flights from May to October. WestJet will also be offering seven weekly non-stop flights between Charlottetown and Montreal beginning May 14, 2007.
  • Sunwing Airlines offers non-stop flights between Charlottetown and Toronto on a seasonal basis.
  • Northwest Airlines provides direct daily non-stop service from Detroit, also on a seasonal basis.
  • New this year, from June to September, there will be direct flights from Boston and New York (JFK International) to Charlottetown with Delta Airlines.
  • Prince Edward Air offers corporate charter air service to and from the Island.
  • Private pilots can take advantage of the Charlottetown Airport.

Getting Here by Car

Take the Confederation Bridge from New Brunswick. A 13-kilometre engineering marvel, the Confederation Bridge is a very quick and convenient way to arrive or depart the Island. The Confederation Bridge is open 24 hours a day and takes approximately 12 minutes to cross. Tolls are collected only when leaving the Island. Enjoy the leisure of a mini cruise with Northumberland Ferries from Nova Scotia. Northumberland Ferries operates on a schedule of about every hour and a half, offering a pleasant respite. The 75-minute trip, spent enjoying a chat and a snack, lounging on the deck and soaking up the sunshine and sea air and even some traditional "music on deck," is often considered a vacation highlight. The ferry does not operate from the end of December until early May.

 

Getting Here by Rail

Travel with VIA Rail to Moncton, New Brunswick and then take a bus to Charlottetown traveling across the Confederation Bridge. Acadian has two buses departing daily from Moncton to Charlottetown.
