Other events ask you to stand up for them, we’re asking you to sit down.

Rick Hansen Wheels In Motion, presented by Scotiabank, brings communities together to raise funds that help improve the quality of life of people living with spinal cord injury. Funds raised support a wide range of life-enhancing programs that allow people with spinal cord injury to fully participate in their community and live life to its full potential.

The 7th annual Wheels In Motion will be held on 4:00pm-6:00pm, June 29, 2009 in conjunction with the Festival of Lights on the Historic Charlottetown Waterfront. The Canadian Paraplegic Association of PEI (CPA-PEI) is very happy to coordinate the RHI Wheels event June 29th. Don’t be left on the sidelines! Register your team and make a difference in the lives of others. Visit www.wheelsinmotion.org .

Rick Hansen Wheels In Motion events feature a wheelchair challenge where teams race against the clock through an obstacle course designed to foster a better understanding of what it is like to navigate through life in a wheelchair. Teams test their dexterity, maneuvering techniques, hockey skills and painting abilities. The fastest team wins. Sound easy? Perhaps not…you will have to do all this in a wheelchair!

Since the inception of Rick Hansen Wheels In Motion in 2003, Canadians have raised $9.6 million. These funds have supported more than 800 quality of life projects in communities across Canada to provide solutions for men, women and children with spinal cord injury. www.wheelsinmotion.org
