(CHARLOTTETOWN, Pe, February 9, 2009) – The magic is set to unfold at this year's Jack Frost Children's WinterFest presented by the Confederation Bridge. In addition to the ever famous Aliant Enchanted Snow Kingdom, join us at any of the three indoor venues for this year's festival, which are sure to delight children of all ages.
The Pepsi Live Indoor Stage at the Charlottetown Civic Centre will feature daily shows on Saturday and Sunday with everyone's favourites the Backyardigans and Marvel Heroes. Join the Backyardigans as they take you on an exciting journey filled with music and dance. “ The Pepsi Live Indoor Stage is one of our most popular events at the festival”, states Lee Gauthier, CEO of Tourism Charlottetown. “The children love coming to see some of their favourite TV characters live and up close”. Also on the Pepsi Live Indoor Stage is Iron Man, in “Marvel Heroes: Operation Green”. Iron-Man, Captain America, Spider-Man, and the Green Goblin will come together to teach audiences ways to conserve energy, recycle, and live a green lifestyle.
After taking in a show, stroll on over to the other side of the Civic Centre where you'll find the CIBC Indoor Playland, featuring inflatable attractions and carnival ride favourites. Plus, the hottest in video gaming: pin ball, air hockey, and racing games. “CIBC is proud to support the Jack Frost Children's WinterFest. It is a great winter event that brings family and friends together.” says Stephen Berry, General Manager, CIBC PEI. Also, a highlight of this venue is the always popular Atlantic Superstore Petting Zoo and Pony Rides along with the toys and activities area from Owl's Hollow.
Then, hop on the Jack Frost Shuttle, compliments of Downtown Charlottetown and Trius Tours, and head over to The Shops of Confederation Court Mall for a little Family Fun. The Discovery Centre, with interactive science fun is sure to delight children of all ages. "You can also enjoy a reading of your favourite stories from In the Night Garden. All fans will receive Igglepiggle or Upsy Daisy hand puppets to follow along and take home, while supplies last!” says Tanya O'Brien, Vice President and General Manager of Dyne Holdings. “Also at the mall is the Princess Pretty Boutique where aspiring young princesses will be pampered with fairy tale treatment, or get in superhuman shape and strike a pose in your costume at the Super Hero Training Camp.
