Jack Frost Organizers are Delighted with the Amount of Snow

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, January 4, 2008 – Organizers for the Jack Frost Children’s WinterFest presented by The Confederation Bridge are delighted with the mountains of snow that has recently landed in Charlottetown.

For the past two years, Tourism Charlottetown has had the extraordinary challenge of having to make 100% of the snow used to build all the outdoor snow attractions including, the Aliant Snow Kingdom, the Technomedia Snow Maze, and snow sculptures.  This has been a challenge both mentally and financially for the Festival organizers. "Our office is happy, relieved, and hoping for more" chirps Kim Doyle, Director of Festivals & Events for Tourism Charlottetown.

The gigantic CAT Run, which is one of the most popular family attractions at the Jack Frost Children’s WinterFest presented by the Confederation Bridge, is already under construction.  The City and Island Coastal Services are delighted to have a place to dump snow, and the organizers are more than enthusiastic to accept it.  Since the CAT Run requires a tremendous amount of snow,  this year festival goers can expect an even higher mountain to coast down and more runs - something that couldn't be accomplished in the last two years due to lack of the white stuff.

“Murphy's Law, this year the Jack Frost Children's WinterFest presented by the Confederation Bridge decided to purchase their own snowmaker to cut down on rental and operating costs from the previous two years, laughs Kim Green, CEO of Tourism Charlottetown.   It is due to arrive in less than 10 days!
