Live on Location Canada AM visits SandLand

(Charlottetown, PE - June 27, 2007) – Join Canada AM Friday morning June 29 at 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Live on location on the Historic Charlottetown Waterfront. Tourism Charlottetown and hosts of Canada AM morning show invite the public to be part of the action at 6 Prince Street, next to Founders’ Hall and Lobster on the Wharf.

 

Come see wee what all the fuss is about as Tourism Charlottetown gives Canada AM a sneak peek of SandLand. Charlottetown’s newest attraction is made from 2 million pounds of Island Sand. See the Plus, watch international wake boarders’ dry run on the dual pools of the Atlantic Superstore Festival of Lights Extreme Wakeboarding Event. Testing their strength, endurance, ingenuity and heart will be Peake’s Quay Atlantic Strongmen; and Chief Michael Smith will be doing cooking up Island potatoes. Cows Ice Cream will be on site giving out Canada’s Best Ice Cream as Awarded by Reader’s Digest and Anne of Green Gables Chocolates will be offering samples of Chocolate dip chips!


SandLand presented by Northumberland Ferries opens to the public on Saturday, June 30 at 10:00 a.m. Consider attending the first ever amateur indoor sand sculpting competition at the Shops of Confederation Court Mall on Saturday, June 30th from 10am – noon.  Watch as over 20 teams compete for top prize in three of Our Champion World Sand Sculptors categories: children (under 12), adult and family.


SandLand is a project of Tourism Charlottetown and the PEI Convention Partnership.  SandLand will officially open during the Atlantic Superstore Festival of Lights and stay open until September 30th. Visit us online at www.sandland.ca.


SandLand is located directly beside The Walk and Sea Charlottetown Visitor Centre at Founders’ Hall, 6 Prince Street; Historic Charlottetown Waterfront.  Tickets can be purchased inside the Visitor Centre at the Admissions Desk.
